Windows Mobile Treo Release OfficialAfter months of speculation, Palm has made it official. At a press conference, Palm, Verizon and Microsoft announced the new Windows Mobile Treo. The new Treo, (which some sites have dubbed the Treo 700W), will be released in Q1 of 2006. Treo To Run Windows Mobile 5.0Microsoft has worked hand in hand with Palm on the new Treo. The Palm OS based Treo and Windows Mobile Treo are being developed by different groups within Palm. The new Treo will run Windows Mobile 5.0 and will feature familiar Windows Mobile applications including Outlook. Verizon Wireless To Carry Windows Mobile Treo 700Palm has worked specifically with Verizon on the new Treo. The Windows Mobile Treo will be the first Treo to run on Verizon's hi-speed EV-DO network. This will allow the new Treo to reach broadband speeds. The Palm OS based Treo 650 is not compatible with the EV-DO network. Treo 700 Release DateThe new Windows Mobile Treo will be available in the first quarter of 2006. It has been speculated that it will be available in January of 2006.
