Bluefire Security Technologies Supports Palm Treo 700w Smartphone
April 5, 2006
Bluefire Security, maker of security software for mobile devices, has added support for the Palm Treo 700w.
"With today's technology, the concept of a smartphone as a small, compact
wireless mobile device that has all the usability of a PC has become a
reality," says Mark Komisky, CEO of Bluefire Security Technologies. "Along
with the freedom to have a PC experience while working remotely without having
the PC, comes the responsibility of understanding and protecting smartphones
from potential threats and vulnerabilities."
Komisky continues, "Organizations should use the same security
requirements with smartphones that they use with PCs or laptops."
Bluefire addresses this need for security by providing products that
protect mobile devices, such as the Palm Treo 700w smartphone, from potential
security threats. With the Palm Treo 700w smartphone, individuals will now be
able to access their corporate email and data using the Bluefire VPN while
sitting in the airport lounge or access and edit critical sales applications
on their company network while meeting with customers, just as they would when
using their laptop remotely.
"The Treo smartphone is transforming what users think of as the office,
leading to substantially more business being conducted by individuals on the
go," says Steve Butsch, director of systems engineering, Palm, Inc. "With the
increased rate of adoption of mobile devices, large enterprises and small
businesses alike need to make sure their corporate assets remain secure."
Bluefire's VPN software is available for free trial download.
